Am I playing fast and loose with tracking kiddo’s time for summer reading programs? Yes, but she’s also a kid who never gets angrier at me than when I tell her to put down a book to come to dinner, so I think I can get away with it.

Kiddo has decided that she can get away with ignoring requests so long as it’s because she’s reading something. The most annoying part of it is that she’s right that we’ll grant a lot of latitude for that in particular.
There was a Little Free Library just outside tonight’s restaurant, so kiddo’s working through a new book while we wait for food.
This afternoon has been a reminder that we are a family that a) plays library for fun and b) gets distracted from playing library by the books that we’re supposed to be checking out to stuffies.
