&lt;p&gt;This series takes more turns in this volume, introducing a major villain who will continue longer than expected and further shifting the premise and main ideas of the series.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I think it works! Grant and Pia get some time to explore their identities and relationship, and playing with bonkers ideas usually works for me.&lt;/p&gt;
